Arthropod species form the foundations of our active land ecosystems, their combined weight coming to at least 1 billion tons or equivalent to the collective biomass of our entire species and our domesticated animals.

Where there's a niche there's an insect, spider, crustacea, or myriapoda to cleverly interact, process, reproduce and survive. Here we list models of some well know UK species. Namely, Stag Beetle, Swallow Tail, Cabbage White, Earwig, Woodlouse, Tiger Beetle, Minotaur Beetle, Shield Bug, and May Chaffer.
