The European Herring Gull (Larus argentatus) is slightly smaller than some of the other "Seagulls" having bluey-grey rather than black plumage on the wing - it does however still make for a formidable opponent against any alfresco dinner along the harbour front. They are common throughout the UK, both along the coast and inland - the seaside would not be the same without their plaintive calls.
This life-sized 3D print is made from recyclable corn-starch PLA plastic and based on a digital scan of an actual Herring Gull skull found local edited by us here at chapel prints. It perhaps makes for a particularly good gift for any of you who may despise them, but also anyone who can see their beauty and intelligence. The digitial model prints well, showing details of the skulls structure, finished by hand using acrylic paints it is a great item for display purposes - whether for an ornithology collection or a reminder of a stole fish supper.
This skull is cruelty-free and perfect for naturalists who are concerned about the impact of sourcing skulls for their collections. Our herring gull skull is anatomically accurate while having no animal harmed in the process! Measuring around 140mm long at the base the skull is in one piece - including only the cranium not the lower jaw.
