Fox Skull Cranium - Wildlife Replica

£20.00
sold out

The Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) is a common but elusive predator in the wild, quiet places of Britain. They are found throughout the UK, both in urban and rural settings, easily identified by their bushy tail and red fur. We have several foxes local to us here at Chapel Prints, we hear them more than see them - but when we're lucky enough to glimpse them it makes for a rememberable and enchanting encounter.

This is a life-sized 3D print, made from recyclable corn-starch PLA plastic and based on a digital scan of an actual fox skull in our own collection. This item makes a perfect gift for yourself or a special someone interested in nature or folklore. Stories have been told of these beautiful if on occasion sly animals - from Aesop's fables to Br'er Rabbit. The skull is fantastically detailed and finished by hand using acrylic paints a great item for any natural history collection.

This item is cruelty-free and perfect for naturalists who are concerned about the impact of sourcing skulls for their collections. Our fox skull is anatomically accurate while having no animal harmed in the process! Measuring around 145mm long at the base the print is in one piece (cranium only), printed in 2 parts to preserve detail in the long intricate canine teeth.

This is a one of a kind 3D printed skull made with love in our little Chapel, and hand-painted by an artist. The careful printing process we undertake to retain detail takes time, and this skull takes around 7 hours to print. The 3D printing textures add to the realism of the skull and create a knitted bone-like texture - which alongside the paint, adds to the realistic feel of the item.

Our skulls are printed, finished, primed, painted, and packaged on-demand, meaning it takes a few days to have your order ready to be sent out to you.

Printing and finishing time: 3-4 days.

Painting time: 3-4 days.

Total time to dispatch: 6-8 days.

First Class Standard Delivery.
