Egg Collection (Garden Birds #1) 3D Printed Hand Painted Anatomical Model

£14.00
sold out
The eggs laid by our native British bird species are beautiful in appearance. This replica egg collection includes - in descending size - Jackdaw, Starling, Blackbird, Dunnock, Robin, Bullfinch, Goldfinch, and Wren models. Painstakingly painted by hand to be as realistic as possible.

When out in nature - especially in Spring - one often finds broken eggshells at the side of the path, sometimes kicked out of the nest - more often - stole by an egg thief of one species or another. The chance to see real eggs is rare and to collect them quite rightfully illegal. So we wanted to be able to humanly admire these natural gems.

These life-sized 3D prints are made from recyclable corn-starch PLA plastic. Created by us here at Chapel Prints we based them on average measurements, documented shape and the general colouring know for each respective species. They are highly detailed and as life-like as our hands can make them - please refer to the listing’s pictures for the final finish. This collection of common garden bird eggs is a brilliant gift for yourself or a special someone - adding a bit of colour to any naturalist’s collection.

These eggs are cruelty-free and perfect for naturalists or egg collectors who are concerned about the impact and legality of sourcing songbird eggs. The eggs are anatomically accurate for each species’. Each egg is individually printed, then finished, primed, and painted by hand. Magnets have been inserted into each one allowing them to sit happily on the included display base (also 3D printed).

This is a one of a kind 3D printed egg set made with love in our little Chapel, and hand-painted by an artist. The careful printing process we undertake to retain detail takes time, and while quick to print at about 5 hours, they take a further 5 hours to finish and paint. The 3D printing textures add to the realism, creating a knitted shell-like texture - which alongside the paint, adds to the rustic feel of the item.

Because of the variability of the paint finish, this is a one of a kind listing.
